The trail connecting Geraci Siculo to Portella Ferrone climbs in a Madonie area full of views and wide open spaces that make your eyes wander over the entire park east side. Views of dense forests alternate to rugged mountains until you reach the Piano Catarineci ring, a magnificent green floor stretching from Cozzo Ipsi to Pizzo Catarineci where it is often possible to enjoy the sight of wild horses.

Then the trail descends towards Portella Ferrone, where there is a picnic area near Petralia Soprana.
