The palace construction took place in 1626. The structure of the building is very similar to the others found in Madonie area, and presents obvious signs of later period architectural remodelation.

This building was also the home of Cerda Marquis, lord of Calcusa - Fontanamurata feud, from which it takes the name "Palazzu Marchisi".
