Museo e Biblioteca Mandralisca
The Mandralisca Museum - which preserves inside its ancient walls the artistical heritage, but also Enrico Pirajno from Mandralisca the legacy of memories - is an interdisciplinary museum which includes, besides the art gallery, a remarkable archaeological collection, a wonderful coins collection, one of the richest malacological collection in Europe, and furnishing and other fine objects belonged to Mandralisca family.
The museum "jewel of the crown" are two magnificent artwork: the painting Ritratto d' Uomo by Antonello da Messina and the siceliot krater with red figures on a black ground called Venditore di Tonno (Tuna Seller). The museum partly maintains an intimate atmosphere of a home environment and the imprint of a private place of memories. In this suggestive atmosphere you can almost feel the presence of the baron, philanthropist, scholar, illuminated intellectual, and the value of his scientific, artistic, archeological collections, personally collected, which give us prove of the personality of the museum Founder.
