Colle di Sant' Alfonso
Colle di Sant' Alfonso
Before becoming the present church in 1837, this building was an ancient octagonal watchtower built in 1600 on the top of the hill. When was adapted as a church, the dome, dedicated to Sant´Antonio, was added. The notables of the town were buried under the floor, while the other people were placed in an underground compartment dug in tuff, accessible from the sacristy.
