The territories of Valledolmo began to be independent from the Scalfani county when they were sold to Giacomo di Giorlando from Collesano, by the Count of Scalfani and Duke of Bivona, Giovanni de Luna, on 1582. Almost a century later, in 1650, Giuseppe Cutelli Cicala, fifth Baron of Valle dell´Ulmo, obtained the lincense to populate the fief from spanish viceroy through the signing of Don Melchiorre Centellis de Borgia. This act started the expansion of Valle dell´Ulmo and of its buildings.
